Mission Statement: The Dry Bean Advisory Board's mission is to improve the economic well-being of the State's dry bean industry by: 1. fostering the development of more profitable agronomic techniques as well as improved bean varieties for the growers to produce; 2. facilitating the sale of all of California's bean varieties by developing promotion programs that make the public aware of the high nutritive and consumer value of dry beans; 3. providing the industry with crop size and movement information thus allowing growers and shippers to more intelligently market their beans; 4. structuring promotion programs so that no variety is advanced to the detriment of another variety of California dry beans, and 5. maintaining sufficient flexibility of program that allows the California Dry Bean Research and Marketing Program to meet the changing needs and challenges of the industry as they develop.
Project Description: The video describes the production of dry beans and includes statistical information on this $95 million California industry. Nutritional information and recipes on dry beans are provided.
